Before I begin, I would like to point out a few things. This is not the Kawasaki Rose diagrammed by Winson Chan (Which can be found here - Joseph Wu Origami) or any of Toshikazu Kawasaki's more recent rose designs. This is much more closely related to the version found in Origami for the Connoisseur but with some modifications to accommodate my base design and my own sense of aesthetics. If you don't already own a copy of Origami for the Connoisseur you really should get one!

Also, I know a lot of you are arriving here from email messages or message boards. On message boards, I've seen a lot of people say "I'm having problems" or "I just can't figure out step X, any ideas" or "these steps are just too hard". If you *are* having problems or questions, visit the feedback page! I don't bite! (well... I do, but only when provoked or asked nicely)

The whole process can take an hour or more so make sure you have a little time on your hands.

Start with a square of paper with the colored side down. Fold the paper in half and fold each half in half in both directions as shown. Unfold.
